Dexter Taylor Case

A search for Dexter's name did not reveal any posts on this story. Recent happenings in the case may have fallen between the cracks of the server migration but the raid on his house was back in spring of 2022. I think this is an important case we should be discussing and following, especially since Taylor is a software engineer with no criminal background and he lives in a highly restrictive state (NY) like ours.

Apparently he was sentenced to 10 years today. Articles about the story can be found by searching his name online. For the members of our community who prefer video to text, a number of videos about this case have been made by prominent content creators.

One could argue that Taylor is a political prisoner, held captive because New York refuses to recognize the plain text of the Second Amendment and the right that it protects. Taylor wasn't accused of any crime of violence, nor did prosecutors allege he was arming violent criminals by selling guns under the table. He's slated to spend years behind bars for essentially having a very expensive hobby without first getting permission from the NYPD.

Just last week another Brooklyn resident received a three-year sentence for pulling a gun on a convenience store clerk. Dewayne Tripp, a convicted felon not allowed to possess a firearm at all, also allegedly violated the terms of his pre-trial release by testing positive for drugs on more than one occasion, as well as visiting an illegal gaming establishment, yet he'll be released from federal prison long before Taylor is able to leave the state penitentiary.

Taylor's sentence is an absolute mockery of justice. Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez is patting himself on the back for the successful prosecution, but he should be hanging his head in shame for sending Taylor to prison for a victimless "crime" that should be protected by the right to keep and bear arms.

New York AG and the high courts should be told that if the second amendment does not exist in NY that neither does the constitution or the bill of rights.
You can't pick and choose what you like, or don't.
The constitution is not a shopping aisle in Walmart.
Form your own country and your own constitution.

I'm pretty sure that these judges, like most public servants take an oath to uphold and protect the constitution of the united states of America. That's an oath and a swear. Pretty sure It doesn't say "I will up hold those parts of the constitution I dig and forego the ones that don't suit my personal views or the global one world order"

Unfortunately, until incentives exist, and punishments occur, liberal judges will continue to flout Supreme Court Second Amendment jurisprudence with enthusiasm and glee.
