    10 Round Mag Limit Issue?!?

I own two AR's and have and issue regarding the 10 round magazine limit.
I have one AR chambered in 5.56 and one in .50 BEOWULF. I have 8 Magpul PMAGS which hold and cycle 10 rounds of .50 BEOWULF. These same mags also hold and cycle 30 rounds of 5.56. I also have a 7 round magazine that came with my .50 BEOWULF upper, this mag will also hold and cycle 20 rounds of 5.56. As long as I never load 5.56 rounds into the high cap mags even though they are marked 5.56 X 45 and say that I will only load .50 BEOWULF into them? This issue is concerning to me especially with California's new Magazine restrictions. PLEASE HELP!

You're over thinking things. You can and use your magazines any way you want to within the law. If your ARs are featureless, do whatever you want. If they are fixed mag builds, you're limited to 10 round mags.

      * Note that there is no case law to clarify here *

... but the 'we' at Calguns think the issue that you say concerns you should not be a major problem. **

If you bought 10-round or 7-round mags, that's legal.

There is no restriction in Penal Code on possession and use of large-capacity magazines (except to prohibited persons).

There does not appear to be a Penal Code restriction in a case where you happen to use the mags in a way that is different from how they were sold, and the mags have not been modified in any way.

** that is, it seems that one might win on the law here - but that does not mean one might not be arrested, charged, and prosecuted.

Not worth fighting it in court... Just buy the 10 round mags that states Beowulf on it and call it a day.
