Currently, the only one that has stated on his website to support shall issue for CCWs that I have come across is Justin Patterson (unfortunately, he seems to be the underdog):

I haven't finished my vetting, however, and am scrutinizing campaign contributions to all the applicants:

    | FEATURED   By Joe Livernois       An off-year primary election may not generate a heap of interest among voters, but local special interests are spending like drunken sailors this year, throwing money at candidates in two Monterey County campaigns.   With a month remaining before Election Day, candidates for Monterey County sheriff and the county supervisorial seat [...]

I’m posting the below on behalf of a another CGN member.

I personally know 2 of the candidates running for Sheriff, and have known them for many years. the ONLY one that has invited me to an event is Patterson. Patterson also has told me specifically he wants to see more and more CCW's issued, and would do everything he can do effect that desire.

Moses, has a lot of drama surrounding him from the last election. He has refused any kind of debates. I do not know Moses' position on CCW

Nieto, I've not really heard much support for her, and have got the impression she is not well liked. she has the support of the DBA (the County Deputies Union). Not sure how to explain why that doesnt sway me in the least.

Hoyne, I know nothing about, just friend of friend, to my knowledge has little support.

I think the race is ultimately between Moses and Patterson

Patterson is having an event today from 2pm to 5pm Will probably run later though (sorry for late notice) at Casa Del Sazon on Tyler street in Monterey. its a mexican restaurant with 3 locations, 2 in salinas and 1 in monterey, they really like him

As per my earlier post I concur with the CG poster that Patterson is the only logical choice for 2A 'and CCW's in Monterey County and the only one that has stated that on his website.

        The other candidates:

Joe Moses, as mentioned, a lot of drama and unsuccessful litigation during and post the last run for the sheriff. None of his staff would give me a position on firearms or CCWs plus he is endorsed by a lot of Democrats including Sam Farr, not a good sign.

Hoyne, tries to look like a cowboy on his website but I believe he is from Chicago. He can fix everything and is best suited for the job according to him but no specifics at all on how he would accomplish that. No info on 2A or CCWs.

Nieto, the worst of the lot, is not only endorsed by the Democratic Party of Monterey County but also the Progressive Democrat Party of America (Monterey Chapter), enough said.
