"80% of the handguns you see in this case will not be available next year"

Just had an employee at the Turners in Fountain valley tell me this. Now I knew that SOME off the handguns, mainly Ruger and Sig are falling off, but not the majority. Sooooo was he just spreading FUD to get some sales? Also more specifically he said that Desert Eagle that I was eyeing will fall off.
I own lots of guns for my age...because why not?

      Check for yourself http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

Looks like the two models listed will expire 6/11/14 and 12/19/14.

I believe as long as Magnum Research pays the fee to stay on the list and doesn't change anything on them then they'll be back.

Manufacturers should start giving FFLs free SSE kits for their products as they fall off.

If the major manufacturers get together and fight the roster by emptying it (so it can be defeated in court as a blanket gun ban), the Turners employee could be correct. There isn't anything to back that up right now though unless all the guns were S&W + Ruger.

You can add Beretta to the list. They announced that they are moving to TN. When production begins there, they will also drop off the roster due to the microstamping requirement. What other mfgr's are moving or making changes to their pistols?

The 80% of guns off the roster within a year might be a bit pessimistic, but only a bit.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

Beretta isn't relocating, they're opening a new factory in TN.

Beretta USA officials along with Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty announced today the company will expand its U.S. operations by building a new firearms manufacturing plant in the Gallatin Industrial Park, northeast of Nashville, Tennessee. Beretta, a global manufacturer of high-quality sporting and military firearms, will invest $45 million in a state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D facility. Beretta will create 300 new Tennessee jobs. The company is expected to complete construction on the facility this year.

Granted any handguns made at the new facility will have to meet the microstamping requirement, but those made at their existing facility will still be valid for sale in CA.
