If by thank you mean to warn them to not waver from this position, otherwise they will face recall. I support that kind of thank you.

I agree with your first sentence, therefore I find your 2nd sentence ridiculous.

If you only abstained so you could lie to your constituents (by pretending to be pro-2A, and you would have not been allowed to abstain had the vote been closer) then you are the worst manner of evil, and if any actually did this, I wish them an agonizing death.

Point well taken, Speed, but my focus was really upon thanking those who were willing to make a "No" vote and stand with us - not so much the abstainers. I should have made that clear in my post.

The reason why we need a split in the State of California.

This is just further proof why we need to split the state of California into a free region and a captive region. The rural areas tend to be more conservative and the urban regions more liberal, that is, with the exception of most of southern California, including Orange County. Counties to the extreme north of San Francisco also would be separated/freed from the bindings of liberal control. Let them (the liberals
) have the coastal region from L.A. to just one county north of San Francisco. They can then be happy controlling all those people and just leave us alone.

4 of the 6 are from socal. Are you talking about an East West split? Gerrymandering?

How about speading the word on not voting D, there is a novel idea. You can't have the govnmt give you everything and expect them to let you make your own decisions, doesn't work that way. Not even with my kids.

Good info OP. I thank every person that voted in opposition to this bill, period, regardless of party. I understand there's often way more to it than that, still, I've got to take it at face value because I can't unwind that tangled web they weave up there in Sacramento.

Also, for those interested, I posted the excerpt of this vote up:

While its good some democrats voted against this tyrannical bill, I can't help but wonder if they could have somehow blocked it ?

Would the democrat leadership have pulled the entire thing if those 9 threatened to run as republicans ?
Personally I believe theses democrats voted against it because their votes didnt matter !
Gun owners should hold the democrat party responsible and vow to unelect these gun grabbers.
Looks like 42 in favor 29 opposed

Jones Sawyers really made a fool of himself !

good to hear some of these lawmakers stand up in opposition.

but the same old mantra of "we have to do something" is getting old and the facts that this law like many will do nothing.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Regardless of party some reps do try to listen to their constituents. Those people that voted against it deserve a thank you.

Does anyone recall during the national ccw reciprocity vote, where a couple of congress members waited until Harry Reid assured them that the bill would not pass, only then voted for the bill to get the NRA rating?

I wish some of these folks could have been on the committees that could have stopped it before it even reached the floor.

Democrats Abstaining from Voting (NVR): Susan Eggman (District 13 – Stockton/Tracy), Adam Gray (District 21 – Merced/Modesto), Henry Perea (District 31 – Fresno)
If just one of these three would have voted NO, we wouldn't have this mess. It passed by 1 vote.
