OP updated with amendments to AB-48, which simplifies it to two main actions:
      1. Ban standard capacity magazine re-build kits (including individual parts that could "convert" an existing <=10 round magazine into a >10 round magazine.
      2. Reporting of purchases of 3,000 rounds or more of ammunition within 5 days to local law enforcement.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

This thread will tell you if any of those pass. It won't be for a number of weeks in any case.

SB396 has NOT passed. If you read the first post in this thread you will see the STATUS of each bill accurately depicted. SB396 is still pending in the ASSEMBLY PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE.

I believe that all bills must be ready for the floor by Aug 30 or they stay there till next year, i think. If passed they move to the floor of the opposite house they started in. If passed its on to the Govenor.

Seems I read that though in suspense, these can be taken out of suspense by 29 August and passed out of Committee.

Then voted on the floor, last day for vote is 13 September.

                    Is that correct?

A few years back a number of us Calgunners were tuned in online listening to the session as it drew down, We were posting as things moved through.
There was one bill that was brought to a vote several times, they tried so hard to get it passed and failed.
They are only allowed to present a Bill once for a vote but it was presented several times against the rules. This sessionwas to close at midnight, it did not, it went long. Wife and I listened to all and went to bed about 1:30am.

                    Anyone remember that?
Have to go through the archives and dig it out.

Anyway, the lesson here is that these guys will do ANYTHING to get there baby passed. Since these Bills have been suspended in Committee we need to keep and eye on them.

Can we have a crowd at the last session on 30 August to witness?

                    Vick

                          Deadlines??

Hey do the bills have until the 14th and 16th to be voted on by the entire assembly and senate or just until then to pass commitee? I will be making calls today after the Dr. But I think some are going to die in the next few days. We need a line of calgunners at both that will cause the testimony's to take so long that they do not get voted on by the deadline. I will be there if I can be. And I am gonna be very professional on the phone, but also very firm, serious, and resolvable.
