I'd be interested in where you're getting your information. If the law passes, (which is likely given our politicians), then how many LEOs are going to go with "sorry for the inconvenience, but it's right there in black and white" over "i'll let you slide this time, but don't bring it out again."

How many magazines have been confiscated as "nuisance items" when high capacity magazines are not banned in and of themselves? How many firearms have been confiscated "while we figure things out" that haven't been returned because "oops, it went into the incinerator"?

I'm not trying to fearmonger, but would you bet a criminal record against "it won't be enforced very strictly"?

Also, don't forget that some are deemed "assault weapons" regardless of features, ie named in categories 1 & 2 (pg 2) on this chart.

I thought all guns were essentially registered or documented in California in some way or another. They know you have a ar right so if you don't register it then they'll knock on your door won't they? Maybe kick it in?

Wrong. Plenty of legally unregistered firearms in CA

            pistols basically

but still having one registered is not evidence that you still possess it

they can figure out which ones have magazines outside of the pistol grip or ones that came with threaded barrels but they have no evidence you did not modify it to conform

someone i know had the idea that if you could somehow buy the name of one of those exempted olympic pistols and just mark its name on lowers out of state and assemble them as pistols for shipment to ca

they're going to threaten people to register and than you can keep it. everyone will fall for it. then the next yr they'll pass another law banning it and come knocking on your door.

No idea of magazine or weapon confiscation. I'm thinking a single-digit percentage.

In my own personal experience, enforcement is nonexistent.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Difficult to predict. Generally, I think California's laws will become more restrictive as time passes.

                    PEOPLE!

It is ILLEGAL for them to do this to us!! The govt was created to guarantee that our civil rights would never be infringed upon... not to dictate what we can or cannot have.
