didn't have the votes due to procedural objections, not the resolution itself...moving to full council. Ugh...I'm sickened with what these people council members have said.

Wrote and email last night and called today. Staff member seemed nice, I kept it short and sweet. Please ask councilmember to OPPOSE the gun ban resolution.

I just called & spoke to "Ken" decent convo, he politely asked me to hold while he looked up the current vote on it. He said the Council will vote on it & he believed it to be a Public Forum. BTW, I was very Polite & nonpartisan. Here we go...

Thank you everyone for calling in. And gomatty, thank you for watching. I was the first speaker today.

This was a non-binding resolution and it was a committee vote which means it was not the full Council voting on it and it was the first (but apparently not the last) vote.

The victory here is that Councilmember Lorie Zapf listened to us. It would have been very easy for her to vote "yes" and polls show her district is probably more inclined to support an AWB. Today we showed her that it would have been more painful to vote "yes".

She is a fantastic councilmember and today she became even better.

HOWEVER...if we do not support her in the future and we do not take a minute right now to call and/or email her to say "thank you" then we have done damage to our own credibility.

Please contact her. Please thank her. Please go out of your way to support her with your time or money in the future.

              1. All firearms are ALWAYS loaded.
              2. Don't point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy.
              3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're on the target and ready to shoot.
              4. Be sure of your target and backstop.

Even if you are not in her district, I bet your calls will do good in that there is more than just her district that supports her. I know your votes from outside of the district won't help her, but it will help everyone else.
