A positive response from email efforts
Here is the letter I sent and the letter I received, I did know Doug LaMalfa is a 2nd amendment supporter. Still good to see a few on the side of the 2nd amendment.
I also sent many more emails to all our CA representatives and our Federal representatives.
Ruger's website has some real easy forms to fill out and they will send them to all the representatives including President Barack Hussein Obama. The president hasn't responded back.

Dear Doug LaMalfa,
I am a law-abiding citizen and responsible gun owner.
I am saddened by the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, but I believe that efforts to impose new restrictions on me and other lawful and responsible owners like me are misguided. Did you know that violent crime with firearms has declined since the Federal "assault weapons ban" expired in 2004?
Your focus should be on strengthening mental health care and improving the quality of data supporting NICS checks (National Instant Criminal Background Check System). Do NOT pass more gun laws; instead, work to enforce the more than 20,000 gun laws already on the books.
I am your constituent and I vote. Please represent me.

Thank you for contacting me regarding gun control policy. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.
Like you, I believe law-abiding citizens should maintain their Constitutional right to own firearms. I was sent to Washington not to strip rights away from the American people, but to defend our basic freedoms and ensure that our government follows the Constitution. Rather than imposing more gun control laws so Congress can appear to be proactive on a sensitive issue, I support increased criminal sentencing and better enforcement of existing laws as the best long-term answers to the problem of crime in America. You may be happy to learn that as a California lawmaker, I authored and passed AB 1645 in 2007, a law that prevents the seizure of firearms in the event of an emergency or natural disaster. This was the first pro-gun legislation in California that was passed and signed into law in over ten years.
Please know that I will continue to oppose new gun control measures and will support legislation that restores our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
