handgun in locked container on front seat?

Ok I have read alot on here about this but I have a few questions.
Ok so I have both a sentry safe 1100(http://www.sentrysafe.com/Products/1/1100_Fire_Chest)
    and a condor messenger bag(http://www.uscav.com/productinfo.asp...548&catid=1723)
Now from what I understand I know that I can have a semi auto pistol with a loaded mag NOT in the weapon in the same locked container. And I'm usin my sentry safe for that but would like to use my condor bag.
My question....is my condor messenger bad considered a locked container if I throw a lock on the zipper pull tabs and have loaded mags in a different zippered area of the bag.
Also can I have that on the front seat while driving?
And last question can I have more than one handgun in the locked container?
The reason I'm asking is because in my county it's really hard to get my ccw and during my commute to and from work I drive through a pretty horrible part of town and I do not feel safe what so ever. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't matter if it's on the front seat or if there's more than one gun in the locked container. Not sure whether that counts as a locked container, but it sounds like it would so long as you can't touch the handgun while the zipper is locked. IANAL

Yes, your Condor bag is considered a locked container if you cannot remove/fire the gun(s) while the zippers are locked together. Mags do not need to be locked up and you can have multiple handguns in the locked container and it can be on your front seat.

As long as the bag is locked you are good. The purpose isnt so much to protect the weapon from being stolen, just to prevent you from quickly accessing it in an emergency; I know, its ridiculous.

On the other hand, you have to account for some unknowlegable LEO who will cause you trouble because he/she thinks you are breaking the law when you are not.

NEways, you should be good to go.

Awesome thanks guys that's what I Wanted to hear. Just wanted to make sure I want breaking the law.
Here's another question for you guys. If the trunk of a car is considered to be a locked container could you in theory say build a weapon holder on the inside of the trunk lid and a mag holder on the inside trunk wall so your weapon could almost ready to go when you pop the trunk of corse the weapon would be unloaded. Would or could that be legal? I know kinda a stupid question just always thought that would be cool to do.

That would work fine, as long as you don't have ANY access to the trunk from inside the car. A lot of modern cars have a "pass-through" section for skis or larger items to fit in the trunk and extend into the passenger compartment.

Great cause for some reason my 2004 dodge intrepid that I have doesn't have that, the seat doesn't fold down at all or have the little pass through. But I have a trunk popper button on the bottom of the dash would that matter.

Hmm... that's a good question, which unfortunately I don't know the answer to, sorry. My guess is that it would fine, but hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject than I have will be along shortly.

You're fine with the trunk. A trunk is deemed to be a locked container itself as long as you can't get to it from the passenger compartment. In this case, while you can open the trunk from inside the car...you can't get to the trunk without getting out first.

Thanks...Kind of a grey area to me too. I just think it would be awesome to open the trunk and have my CA legal AR strapped or somehow mounted to the inside of the trunk lid and on the left side of the trunk floor make a AR mag holder and have some 10 round mags ready to go. I know there is absolutely no good legit reason to do any of this but it would be pretty awesome and one hell of a way to be prepared for anything.

It might be important to point out that if it is on your front seat, exposed, you only need have it in a locked case while within 1000 feet of a school. If you are outside any school zone, no case is needed.

I have a lockable gun vault containing a gun and two loaded magazines that are not in the magwell.

Do the magazines in to be in a locked container? Can I have 2-3 fully loaded magazines on a seat, ground, side panels?

                        Thank you

Anyone seen t he YouTube video of the push button hydraulic gun compartment that sits in the middle dash board? Is that legal? Why do I talk to who can do somethinb like that?

I'm confused. Is it legal to have a gun in a lock container with full magazines not in magwell within 1000 feet from school?

                          Thank you

Yes. Completely legal. E Pluribus was adding in the fact that you can "open carry" a handgun on your front seat as well, but you can NOT be within 1,000 ft. of a school (GFSZ) while you do this. It is essentially a VERY impractical way of carrying a handgun, since there area schools all over the place in populated areas and you would have to know your route VERY well.

                              You have to
                              know, or reasonably should know,
of the school zone. On a regular route to work, ignorance is a tough sell, for me.
