Hmmm, although there are (at least) hundreds of these rifles in private hands across the U.S., this is the first time I've ever heard of a Barrett .50 being used in a crime:
"Marisela Morales, the Mexican attorney general, estimates that at least 200 Mexicans have been killed with Fast and Furious weapons -- among them, a powerful Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle that took down a federal helicopter."
Thanks for making it all possible, Mr. Holder!!!Comment

Ignorant writers and reporters have been talking about "Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifles that can shoot helicopters out of the sky" for so long that I think this must be just a memetic mutation, not an actual occurrence. I mean, think about how many times a "fully automatic AK-47 assault rifle" has turned out to be no such thing.
Edit: Looks like seeing is believing. Down below, Burbur posts this news story that confirms "helicopter shot down."Comment

If this is ever proven true, we will have our impeachment and much more. Nothing until then.Last edited by Stonewalker; 09-22-2011, 2:39 PM.member: Electronic Frontier Foundation, NRA, CGF

My favorite quote

"Shot down" is a little over dramatic "forced to land" might have been overly cautious, but it does appear a Barrett 50 did shoot a Mexican helicopter. : oooh scarrrry :
To the OP, great damning article. The more stones thrown, by more MSM, the better!Comment
