I found this thread on GB, was interested to learn (according to a few posters & FFLs from TN) that nondistributor type guns shipped to TN are checked by TBI and if found to be stolen are confiscated from the FFL?
Anyone else heard of this?
It seems to me that by comparison the CA law, while a bit of a pain for the sender and misdirected in that it targets FFLs and not criminal behavior such as a stolen gun, it is of much less consequence to the seller/buyer.
To clarify, I'm not knocking the TN system if it works to ID stolen guns, put bad guys in jail and get guns back to their owner. But "Won't ship to CA because of paperwork" pales by comparison to "Won't ship to TN because I may be out big $$$" - which of course we never see.
