That's a relief. People with a connection to the undergrad houses at Caltech have a 14.3% chance of contracting scurvy, you know.

I contemplated shooting it on Independence Day. The problem was that I was too lazy to make black powder, and this was before my interest in firearms resurfaced, so I didn't know I could just buy it. I also didn't want to be expelled, and I was on thin ice already (Caltech lost its sense of humor and promised an investigation into the unauthorized use of MIT systems which seemed to've originated from Caltech. It was a bunch of lies, of course, but you know how hard it is to defend one's good name these days, no matter how innocent he may be)

It seems that the folks who actually live under the thumb of oppressive gun control laws (Californians) are much more adept at fighting effectively, not to mention using a multitude of approaches.

Hat's off to Calguns and the innovative folks here! Other state organizations could learn from this.

We will be talking about this lovely bit of political theater today on Gun Talk Radio.

Well, since you passed my little test and didn't know it is the Fleming cannon and not the Dabney cannon, perhaps you're right. I concede that you don't have any connection to the undergrad houses. I abjectly apologize for sullying your good name with such a vile, baseless accusation.

The problem was that I was too lazy to make black powder,
Geeze, that's lazy. I recall some undergrads who were planning to make a fuel-air bomb and explode it out in the desert. Nothing came of it that I know of, perhaps because they figured out that ATF doesn't have the same sense of humor that the Caltech administration usually does.

and this was before my interest in firearms resurfaced, so I didn't know I could just buy it. I also didn't want to be expelled, and I was on thin ice already (Caltech lost its sense of humor and promised an investigation into the unauthorized use of MIT systems which seemed to've originated from Caltech.
OK, you just weren't paying attention. I withdraw my withdrawal.

Hijinks involving computer security? Oh, absolutely, you could not possibly have been involved. It's just inconceivable.

A rowdy bunch of malcontents who don't take orders from the state well, that's us.

No. It's called probing the enemies strength. Good to know that what you didn't see there are things you're not seeing here either. And neither is the opposition! Oh, I love it!

Aww, I've been hanging out here for about 18 months. Just didn't have anything to offer. I'm a quiet kind of guy, you know. I do appreciate the clever approach to this latest operation. There's a bit of Sun Tsu, or Jujitsu, or Hi Karate, or something, in getting the opponent to take action like this.
