    What would it take?

Hello everyone, I have finally decided that it was a good time to start purchasing some firearms for home defense as well as recreational/competition shooting. I was not aware of all the absolutely ridiculous state laws that have come into effect until recently. What would it take to repeal the following California laws?

    1. 10 round magazine limit.
    2. 10 day waiting period per firearm.
    3. 10 day waiting period for long guns.
    4. Only new pistol purchase per 30 day period.
    5. The Safe Handgun list.
    6. The Assault Rifle Ban of weapons that are not Real Assault weapons (I know there is a lot of ways that this could be defined but I consider an assault weapon something that is capable of full auto fire and or 3 round burst). A bullet button, seriously?
    7. Illegal to sell holsters for .380 pistols? Now that is ridiculous

It seems to me like all of these actions clearly show infringement on bearing arms. I can't believe that I spent over 11 years on active duty to be harassed by the folks I was sworn to defend. I thought the strength of this country was allowing people to believe whatever they wanted as long as they did not infringe upon other rights. I guess I was wrong. I do agree in a certain degree of gun control to prevent immature people from owning a firearm but at what point should it be called unconstitutional?

Wait a couple years and most should be gone. What's left will be fighting it out in the courts.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

I think that is a local thing. I know many firms won't sell any holsters whatsoever to people in L.A. city. I think that the .380 ban is a ban on all holsters for calibers smaller than X, but I don't remember what X is.

There are those here with a lot more expertise than I.
First incorporation of the second amendment is expected in 2010. Assuming that, the safe handgun list should be toast. The 10 Rnd Mag Limit and assault weapon ban will probably have to wait for the SCOTUS to rule that the 2ND protects arms of military significants. Your grandchildren may be working on getting rid of waiting periods and one handgun a month, that is going to take education of the public. Good luck.

I am not aware of a ban on .380 holsters. Send me the outline of your pistol and I will make you one.

LAPD's Crack Down On Legitimate City Gun Dealers
                Nets Harmless Leathersmith

                Law Enforcement Priorities Misplaced

In an outlandish enforcement action, Detectives from the LAPD Gun Unit, working with a new City Attorney Task Force, recently performed a plain clothes undercover "sting" on a leather smith Omar Pineda's family business: Alfonso's of Hollywood Leather Company. Pineda, in business in North Hollywood for 43 years, makes custom holsters and other leather goods. In fact, he has been servicing LAPD officers for many years. But he does not sell guns, nor possess a firearm dealer's license - which isn't necessary for his leather business. Pineda's "crime?" He unwittingly sold two leather holsters for .380 ACP handguns to the undercover officers, not realizing that the recently enacted Municipal Code section that bans the sale of "ultracompact" handguns (under either 6 3/4" long or 4 3/4" tall) also bans the sale of holsters for these guns.

Wow, talk about a waste of taxpayer money.

Not only should LAPD "gun unit" be out of work, they should be thrown in jail.

basically start calling your congressman and representatives and senators. Tell them they lost your vote ( if they voted anti gun laws)

Youre right this country was built on doing what you want as long as you dont infringe on someone elses rights. Then why do

want to infringe on someone elses right to carry/own a gun. Being immature is not a reason to refuse someone the right to defend themselves

I remember reading that story. I bought several holsters and other things from Arturo back in the '80's. He's a damn fine craftsman and a good guy. I hope they didn't wreck his business.

Illegal to sell holsters. That is just preposterous. Arresting someone for selling friggin' leather goods???
