    Demonstration in Compton...

In spite of the request from the CalGuns leadership, there are gunnies out there that are either not aware or will not heed such a request.

Personally, I think gun buy backs should be loudly and regularly protested-

    1) Buy backs in gun free school zones should be documented and the circumstances and video archived for future action against 626.9
    2) Buy backs in those areas outside the gun free school zones should have a capitalistic alternative booth for firearms appraisal for the purpose of demanding or offering fair market value.
    3) and when the time is appropriate, there should be a first and second amendment demonstration- that the people will or should not sell out their right to defend themselves for $50, $100, or $200

I've been keeping an old .22 rifle for one of those.

I've been hanging onto this old Marlin .22 for 10 years waiting for one of these to happen near me. It misfeeds every-other round and it ain't worth fixing. I'd love to get $100.00 for it, wouldn't complain about $50.00.
Not exactly an evil gun but if they'll give me money for it, what the hell?

ummm because you are adding to the number of firearms they collect. When less and less people show up to turn in guns they will stop conducting these ridiculous buybacks. Also when the SD is touting how many they got you have become part of the problem if you gave them a gun. My two cents anyway.

Maybe some FFL dealers could go down there to make sure no valuable firearms don't get lost to another pointless government program.

That is what i meant...this idea has been thrown around here a few times with some of the other buy backs.

Has anyone seen anything in the press saying how well they did, and how many bazillion fully automatic cop killing assault Ravens they had turned in? (hint: I know of at least one if you leave off the adjectives)

Of course, they had to work in "assault weapons" somehow.
So now, simply being a semi-auto is an "evil feature".
