    DROSS Question

I bought 2 lower receivers back in 2006 from Metro Shot. The first receiver was purchased in February, Metro Shot gave me the receipt and printed a copy of the DROS for me. The second receiver was purchased in March, Metro Shot gave me the receipt but did not give me a Copy of the Dros, so all I have is the receipt. Is there a way to check if my second receiver was Drosed? I want to carry a documentation packet with me just in case. I cannot get a hold of Metro Shot and I believe someone told me they are no longer in business. Thanks.

DROS proves nothing. It says you bought a long gun, but not which kind of long gun.

Second, the DOJ is supposed to purge that data after so many days. Why do you want to keep records of it if they don't? I am assuming you are keeping these records for either insurance or legal reasons, but DROS won't prove anything for either of those cases.

A simple store receipt is all you need to prove anything. In my opinion keeping long gun DROS records is pointless as it proves nothing.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.
