Please Read this article then read my rant.
The gun owners of America need to start standing up for themselves more and be more verbal! Quit hiding in the closet, speak proudly about being a gun owner. We have a right that is spelled out, do not let some politician speak lies about false statistics. Be verbal! I was at a Costco gas station the other day telling the attendant loudly how I am leaving california, because of the gun laws and the taxes and the corrupt politicians and you would be surprised how many people heard me and agreed with me on all accounts. So many people are afraid to say anything, because some PTA momma may say bad things about them, but we are in the right!
I was at a gun store in San Carlos on that same day and the owner and I were talking and she commented that I would be surprised at how many gun owners are in San Carlos or in the bay area. I told her she needed to get them more vocal and she felt they were afraid of being to vocal! Why are we afraid???? We are law abiding citizens, not criminals. Invite your PTA mommas to a gun range. I suggested to the gun shop owner to sponsor some shooting activities. She said she did and only 4 people showed up!!! That activity raised $600.00 for the local school, bet they didn't turn down that money! Get gun shop owners to sponsor more activities and invite gun haters and people that may be curious about guns, but just never had the opportunity to shoot one.
Even Frontsight invites reporters that are negative about guns to their location and requires the reporter to shoot one of the automatic rifles before they give an interview. Ignatius said after their experience with that firearm they are strangely no longer negative!
Get out of the closet gun owners!!! I tell everyone I can that I have guns, I have a ccw and that they should get one also after they get proper training, it is their right! If we can get more people active with all of this it surely cannot hurt.
Do you all realize how many kids get some sort of toy gun for a gift! We all have, be it a nerf gun, bb gun, video game with guns, water gun, gee it goes on and on and it is just a natural progression to get proper training and owning a real gun. I think gun safety should be taught in all high schools at least, just because every kid is going to be exposed to a real gun at some point and needs to know how to handle it properly. I went to a gun safety class for hunting when I was in 6th grade, that was way back in the 70's, there were a lot of kids in that class! There are kids in the Olympics shooting competitions, tell the PTA mommas that their kid could be an Olympic medal winner! It is a sport not an illegal activity!
Now get out there and start TALKING!!!!!
