    SKS mag question

So, a buddy of mine from out of state is getting rid of some rifles, one of which is a 50's Russian SKS. Problem is it has a detachable 30 rd mag on it. Other than that, I think it is all orig. If the mag is swapped out for the non-detachable box mag, is the rifle CA legal? The 922R dance is nullified as well?

    Thanks!

Dont suppose they make a bullet button for the SKS...

Now I just have to find a non-detachable 10 rd mag (factory steel). He of course did not save it.

Searched the web, and it looks like whoever had them sold out. No surprise there.

It would not matter. SKS rifles with more than a 10 round mag are assault weapons by definition.

Location? I may have an extra Yugo mag. I think it should fit.

make sure it is reverted before you take possession

it shouldnt be legal to have an sks with no magazine but i dont want to have to fight that in court
