Palm Springs: Call and Oppose local Gun Control Ordinance Now (before 9/21)

On 9/7, Palm Springs City Council voted 3-2 in favor of an ordinance that requires the reporting of lost or stolen firearms, the locked-storage of firearms in the home, [and more]. But, the ordinance is not final yet --they must have two more readings of the ordinance. The City Council will meet again on September 21 at 6:00 P.M. Please attend and voice your opposition to the ordinance.

Please contact the City Council directly at and make your opposition known:

    Palm Springs City Hall
    3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way
    Palm Springs, CA 92262
    Tel: (760) 323-8299
    Fax: (760) 323-8207

Email: Office of the Mayor and City Council Executive Assistant
    Joanne.Bruggemans@palmspringsca.gov

Contact the three City Councilmembers who voted in favor of the ordinance and respectfully ask them to reconsider their position.
    Mayor Robert Moon - Robert.Moon@palmspringsca.gov
    Councilmember Geoff Kors - Geoff.Kors@palmspringsca.gov
    Councilmember J.R. Roberts - JR.Roberts@palmspringsca.gov

Please visit the NRA-ILA for the full story:

Noe: Mayor Pro Tem Chris Mills and Councilmember Ginny Foat voted in opposition of the ordinance. (Thank you)

It seems like if your guns were locked up they wouldn't get stolen so no need to report.

If the city was really concerned about guns being stolen the ordnance would read gun need to be locked up when you are not at home.

The problem does not need a law. It just needs a brain.

I agree and I think most of us know what the real reason is behind these laws.
