80% lower builds have to be registered?

Prob has been discussed and will prob get **** for this but....
the only rifles I have are from 80% builds. Have a standard AR-15 platform 16", a 7.5" AR, and an AR308. I enjoy going to the range and out to the desert to shoot but am now worried about even taking them out of the house with these bills being passed. Do they still apply to these? Heard they may require a stamp/etching of some kind of serial # then register them as AW's? Anyways, any insights are appreciated as this is all new to me.

    Thank you.

Whether or not an AR was an 80% or 100% build should have nothing to do with the requirement to register them as AWs, if they meet the new definition of an AW. You have a few choices. Registration, remove all features or move them out of California. It is unknown how the DOJ will treat ARs without SNs.

The bill to require unserialized guns to be serialized is still on Brown's desk.
It is the only one of the 12 that he did not act on last Friday.

It becomes law on the 12th if he does not veto it.

Only saw veto confirmations on 5 of the 12.
FPC sent out an email indicating that this one remained.

              Unknown.
He likely cleared most of it to keep Gavin from signing everything. Learned his lesson about that in the 70s when Lt Gov Mike Curb (conservative) "TCOB" while he was out running for POTUS, vetoing bills and issuing executive orders.

You are all speculating on AB-857. See the separate thread on the forum on it or look at the bill here:

This bill has NOT yet been sent to the governor so the clock is not ticking. Newsom is not in play here. I do not claim to understand why they did not yet send it to Brown but you can bet they will when he returns. Brown vetoed a very similar bill last year. Lets hope he holds his ground again but he didn't on the AWB bills...

There is also De Leon's version of the bill, SB 1407 that is still in committee.

It states that 80% builds must be serialized and may not be registered as AWs.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.
