AB 1664 question in light of recent shooting (General CA Politician response thread)

Being this is the deadliest mass shooting ever, it seems inevitable that Brown will sign this bill. If so, is there any hope on the horizon, any way to make it easier to reload fixed magazines, any ideas in the works to get around this?

NOTE: If you do not feel comfortable posting your response for possible spies to read, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PM ME.

It's just depressing that, I, a law abiding citizen, will now have to be significantly inconvenienced because of some radical anti-gay dumbass.

i just need to know if should simply get rid of all my **** and get another hobby.

    Thank you all

Must not take the bait... May as well give up, turn in all your guns, and go purchase a prius. At least that's what I'm going to do.

I dont think he will sign it. Gov Brown himself is a gun ower and already vetoed a similar bill.

Depends on whether this attack is more terrorist or nut job. Looks like the isis connect is fixing that for us. Even Shrillary failed to mention guns in her statement.

Yup, there are easy ways to reload fixed AR mags using stripper clips which were commercially available as far back as 2002. There have been special AK mags made for easy loading of fixed mags when the OLL movement first started.

The terrorism connection seems obvious at this point, its just a question of which political spin will stick with the public. Sanders has already shown us his take on the matter...

That's interesting, I can't see how that can be reloaded quickly, I'll have to look into that, thanks.

"Quickly" is a relative and subjective term. You originally asked about an "easy way" not a super fast or quick way.

Seriously? I really doubt that more than 1% of AR owners will ever honor that, if it should become law.

This was an act of terrorism committed by a radical Muslim who also happened to be a registered Democrat. Call it what it is -terrorism.

So sorry you feel inconvenienced by this Terrorist Act. I have stepped up my daily preps as a result of this Terrorist Act. How about you?

My guess is that all the current bills will pass and be signed. Next year AB1663 will be revived asap or something even more strict resulting in all semi auto centerfire rifles being banned.

I have a few other likely eventualities, but I don't want to give them any ideas.

Brown is more leveled headed than 99% of his party in this state in regards to gun laws. sadly we have to rely on him to veto idiotic legislation.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Brown could also use some legislative allies in his whole Byzantine twin tunnels water grab scheme.

There is a bright side to all of this. All the bills pass. I don't comply. A jury summons arrives in the mail. And for the felony question I can honestly answer that I am an Undocumented Felon. That should get me off jury duty (yes I know we should get on juries to practice nullification but my employer doesn't pay for jury duty).
