Shot pellets in deer/ other game.

In the last 3 or 4 years I have seen at least 4 deer with old shot in them, ranging in size from #8 to BB. 3 of these from CA, the last one from a doe I took in NV.

I don't recall seeing this many deer with old shot it them before. Has anybody else noticed this? I find it pretty sad that there are enough idiots running around shooting at deer with bird shot that I happen to be eating a deer every year with old pellets in it.

Never seen it. I have heard of several accounts of people finding .22's in deer and elk though.

Some people are just idiots and its too bad they have guns.

I used to work in a deer butcher in NY. I'd say in about 10% of the deer we cut up we would find some sort of foreign body in the them. From bird shot, buck shot, broadheads, slugs, wood, metal. You name it. Tough animals.

And yes some people are freaking idiots out there.

Most or all of the bucks my dad shot along the Consumes River had bird shot in them. He said that duck hunters probably couldn't resist. When it would flood the deer would be everywhere because there was no where to hide. This was in the 80's.
