Not sure if I follow. Is it because it would be very hard to hit the vitals if the deer has its back turned towards the shooter? And why not a 300 blk for hunting deer?

Because its a POS round for deer hunting. Unless you have a lot of experience shooting deer and know your limitations with that round as MifSlim does.

Yeah on my PC at home I can clearly see the deer is 1/4'ing towards him. Originally I was viewing the video on my phone and at work on an old monitor. I have old eyes, good kill.

Thanks! I am building a 300 blackout pistol for hog hunting and have been pondering an optic for it. Wasn't sure if I should go for something made specifically for the 300 or if another one would work fine.

What length is your barrel?
Was the 165 grainer loaded as sub or super?
Were you using a LER scope?

10.5" bbl, 80% lower, nameless stripped upper, PSA parts kits and pistol buffer kit.

Loaded super sonic. Data shows it hitting 1850fps. Just above sub.

Were you using a LER scope?

LER scope as in Leaper? Haha.. Dunno. But its markings on it was specifically made for the SKS I got back in 1998...all ot says on it is SKS 3x....
