ScottB read my post that I sent to my senator....its a few posts up.

This outlines exactly why these dogs exist. They are athletes no different than a kid playing a sport. Parents never want to see their child break a bone playing football or worse a neck injury...etc. But these are acceptable risks for being an athlete. I hate that we are treating dogs like they should be locked in cages and not be allowed to enjoy their life.

This Lieu guy in Sacto is one of the micro managers of the public. So far he has made it illegal to sell puppies on the sidewalk. He has passed a law to make it illegal for anyone under 18 to go to a tanning saloon. Now he has an easy target in Cali...hunters...

I hope hunters don't make the same mistake this time.

I'll do what I can to help!

I just pulled those pictures off google images guys, so I don't know any info about the dogs in the pictures. I have hunted behind dogs before for both hogs and coons. It's a blast and there is absolutely nothing unethical about it.

Hunting dogs love to hunt. HSUS and other government agencies want us to sit in our houses so we don't get hurt. Their proposed legislation is just another layer of waste and another example of over legislation.

You know the thing is as a primarily bird and bunny hunter, I really don't care about this bill. It doesn't directly effect me because for pig or dear I kinda like the spot and stalk thing. Sure I would love to go with bigboarstopper but push to shove I would spend that money on a goose hunt in Canada.

BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER. I HAVE TO OPPOSE THIS BILL BECAUSE ITS THE FIRST STEP TO BANNING WHAT I LIKE!!!

So for anyone that thinks who cares, I only hunt birds, how long until our refuges are taken off the table? How long until I can't go for a pleasant early morning walk with a shotgun because since they passed this bill they have time for a bird protection bill? You have to fight every battle, even when it might not directly be yours.

My main issue with the type of people who would support this bill are the same types that would either put down or massively drug their border collie because it started eating their couch because all it does is sit inside all day. Those type of fools forget that dogs were bred for jobs not just to look pretty, but because little Mary or Billy saw one in a movie they go buy one. That is far more abuse than someone who works their dog at its bred job.

James I stole your letter. We will see what type of response I get.

Wheh, I guess its go rant Friday!

Yep, there at it again. Divide and conquer. We as hunters, fishermen, and gun owners, have to oppose this type of legislation. Even if you don't hunt or fish, your a target. One of the ways to stop hunting is to go after the hunters tools, guns.

What bull%#^*. Peta and HS kill more pets than they help. They recently released a report and 95% of pets they receive are euthanized. I believe they have saved a total of 24 petsvby putting in adoption last year. I'm a hunter and an animal lover, and all I can say is screw them. Nearly all the money donated to them goes to their crap politics. Next to nothing goes towards pets. Now this crap. Dogs enjoy hunting. Now tey want to take that from them. One starts to think they secretly hate animals.
