That’s what I thought the first time I saw a flock of sandhill cranes fly over when I was goose hunting near Sacramento. Later, I used to pull over and glass the fields around Galt to watch them feeding. Magnificent birds!

I stopped hunting about 15 years ago but now that I live in Texas I am planning on going on one last hunt for sandhills in the Panhandle. My stepson just moved here from Mass. and he and I are planning a few bucket list fishing and hunting trips. At 72 I only have a few left in me and they have to be not too physically challenging.

Anyway, got all fired up watching this excellent vid last night. Ribeye of the Sky!

Hahahaha we stomped those things in Colorado city last year and they eat great ! Don’t forget to save the hearts , livers and legs . We even got a flock of Mallards to hit the dry field we were in .. haha great fun
