Looking for a hunting bud for hog hunting

I've shot quite a bit for targeting but I'm completely a new hunter. But everyone just start from scratch.

Thus, I'm planning to hog hunting in Central CA or Northern CA area using some guider. The price for a 2-days trip including guides, accommodation and meals would be $900-$1000 each ppl. Most outfitter requires 2 ppl minimum so I'm looking for a buddy to go with me and enjoy the trip. And maybe we could hunt more than once if everything works fine I live in bay area and planning to do this in March. PM me if you are interested.

For outfitter, I'm currently considering the following (by using my internet searching skill):

    - Hog Canyon Hunts: http://hogcanyonhunts.com/wild-pig-hunting-rates
    - Bitter Water Outfitters: https://www.bitterwateroutfitters.co...wild-pig-hunts
    - mumwildlife: https://www.mumwildlife.com/wildboar

I definitely want a decent guided hunting instead of shooting in a putting zoo as I really wanna learn some skills. So please let me if you have a good suggestion or experience before on guided hog hunting or a recommended guide I can use. I'm very flexible.

Many guides will roll you into a smaller group of hunters. I typically will book 2 groups at a time. One with me and the other with my partner. We will go in opposite directions and communicate via radio. This way who ever finds the hogs first can call the other. Been many times where we will position ourselves on opposite valleys and when they shoot the hogs run strait to us. Gives the hunters an oppertunity to not just experience their own hunt but everyone else’s as well. FYI, I’m not currently guiding so I’m not making an attemp to get you to jump ship.

Thanks for the info. BTW, just found out you have a great reputation for guiding here. Do you still guide?

PM on the way. I take beginners or experienced hunters.

JD Escobar is who I recommend. Wish I could find his darn number. Google him.

Now this is the way to start a hog thread. Props OP. Unlike my first post on CalGuns...
                    Good luck.

NinjaToe i haven't found there to be much in the way of reliable pig hunting in SoCal. for my money you have to get north of Paso Robles. Tejon Ranch has a good population it seems but you're talking a different price range to hunt Tejon from what i've seen.

JD is also a good guy to go to if you want to ride some rank bulls. My brother used to break in a lot of his bulls back when they were on the rodeo circuit.

Another good guy is Nessen Schmidt from the same area as JD.
