Actually that's my father pointing the gun to my head but I assure you no shells were in our guns!!! He was just pissed that I shot the majority of the geese!!!

Well, that's different, then. He brought you into this world, and he can take out out as well!

In all seriousness, though, even though no harm was done, Pops should be given a reminder on muzzle discipline.

That's right!!! LOL!!! I agree!!! He'd most likely get the "which way is safe to point your gun" question wrong on the FSC test!!! LOL!!!

Sausage and Ragu down! Another really fun hunt near King City on Thursday and Friday. I put together a group of five friends and we all got really nice hogs. This guy was at about 100yards across a canyon when we flushed him out. He's the first boar that I've taken with impressive ivory. Lots of feed for them right now given the rain. So they are a little tougher to find and actually have some fat on them.

You're taking your pics wrong. You're supposed to be 10 feet behind it with the hog up high so it looks like a hogzilla.

Ha, yeah I know there are def ways to make the hog look bigger. It was in fact pretty good sized. It was just over 250lbs, gutted. I'm guessing that put it at close to 300 lbs live, but not sure. Big bodied and super thick armor over the front shoulders that made it a chore to skin. I think I'm gonna mount this one. The teeth are big but didn't measure them.

Raahauge last Friday.

As a kid, Grandpa would stick me in the Jon Boat and float me out into the blind for ducks. I've been an avid sport shooter for years but never really got back into the hunting thing here in SoCal.

Went out to Raahauge's last Friday and had a great time with some friends. Can't say enough about how accommodating and helpful the Raahauge's crew were, not to mention our guide, Scott Primm.

If anyone has any tips for a hunter in a wheelchair (albeit an all-terrain chair), my ears are open. Below is the result of our morning (me on the right).

I wonder how a shorter barreled shotgun would work out for ya? We put some youngsters on an old browning B80 with a 22" barrel when taking them out for skeet and they seemed to be able to get the gun up to swing speed faster and ahead of the birds... might be one idea for you.

Thanks. Ive been shooting trap and skeet for the last 10 years or so and have settled on either my 28" Benelli or my 26" Ruger O/U. Not much issue with getting up on target. Mostly I just run out of range as I have no muscle control to twist at the waist but must twist my upper torso.

Good suggestion though.

Looks like you had an amazing time, well done. Whoever took that picture sure had the dogs attention, especially the one on the left.

One of my favorite hunting/fishing shows back in the day was "The Best and Worst of Tred Barta". I really admired him for his ability to fail and learn rather then fail and blame/complain.

The man had IIRC a spinal stroke that paralyzed him from basically the breast plate down. Confined to a wheelchair (an all-terrain like yours) he still was able to not only shotgun/rifle hunt but also longbow hunt! I remember watching some of his post-stroke shows and being blown away at what he was able to accomplish from a wheelchair. He mentioned more than once on the show about not having the range of motion he wanted anymore and was in the works to fix it. His show went off air before I remember a solution being shown.

He will always be an inspiration to me and thought maybe he'd be a good starting point for idea's. Good luck out there SG.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Funny you should share pictures of Ted in a Tank Chair. I just confirmed that the west coast distributor of Action Track Chair (very similar to TankChair) is in town and I just arranged to get a demo on Thursday.

Now just to raise the funds....anyone interested in a real clean '65 Le Mans convertible?
