New Place To Camp 2-3 Hours from IE

Ok so I have been to a lot of the campgrounds in and around the IE and the OC but what about just going off somewhere and setting up camp. There is a ton of land out here but I assume everything I drive by is private property. So I guess my question would be where can I go do a practice SHTF run? Where can I go and just camp, no fees, no park rangers, no bathrooms. I have done my share of desert camping along the 15 north but what is available along the 15 south? South of the 91?

I have a 2wd Ram1500 so I guess I can't do any "real" offroading so that would be my main limitation.

Any advice would be great.
