I'll post one I do not recommend... I finally tried a KABAR (non-Becker)

Impressive on paper and in pics... not a fan of the black coat (paint) they use and the steel is really thin. On a knife without a full tang it makes it feel fragile IMHO. maybe I am used to SYKCO, BUSSE, SWAMP RAT... but this knife doesn't feel rugged. I wanted a stacked leather handle, etc... but this one is being returned. For $90 it seems like a deal, but in person a 9"+ blade should be thicker especially with a rat tail tang. Doesn't seem like the KABAR name should be on it, but maybe the KABAR name isn't what I thought. That $60 Cold Steel is a HELL of a lot more knife.

The CS Drop Forged knives are 52100... or as BUSSE calls it, SR-101 (with their heat treatment)

Picked up a Doug ritter in 20cv super steel to join the rotation and possibly replace the zt 350. Smooth action good lock up. Only complaint is i doing really like the texturing on the scales. It's g10 but it feels cheap and hope compared to my zts. Other than that though no complaints. I like the idea of buying a bench made without supporting a bunch of traitors like bench made.

I lost my Kershaw Launch 4 while I was at work. So to replace it I ended up picking up a Pro-Tech Half Breed today. The full size grip feels waaay better! I like that it already comes with a deep conceal clip.

That seems like it might be on the short list of folders that are the next best thing to a fixed blade. Basically my list is a good size Cold Steel with a TRI-AD lock or a AXIS lock Benchmade 810/Contego M4 (not an important niche for me since I have neither of those anymore). Even a small fixed blade like a SYKCO Dumpster Mutt or 511 will be a lot tougher than those.
I got it. Wow, it's a big knife, not exactly for a pocket. It's about an inch thick. I'll be looking for a belt holder to carry it in.
Seems nicely constructed. Lockup is solid, and the blade is about 3/16" thick, with little flex. It is sharp on arrival.

No problem. Balance point is right between the guards and the sharpening choil on that little strip.

Balance is pretty good. I have the Hunter and I added skate tape to the handle grooves... this one needs nothing. A lot better than the old version and the color is nice.

Thickness is listed at 6mm and it does appear less than .25" to me. It is drop forged so it is one solid piece. The handle portion gets a lot thicker. It is a nice sharp piece of 52100 ball bearing steel for the price.

I really dig that CS! How’s it balance & how thick is it?
