My 1st rifle was a Stevens model 188H. I must have received it as a birthday present around 1957-59. I recently discovered that it was in my storage area in a box.
It has suffered from thousands and thousands of rounds fired, normal use by a young boy, storage, neglect and modifications that I did to the stock back when I was a kid (stock was too long so I sawed off a chunk).
I would like to put it back in operational condition mostly as a keepsake but I would like to shoot it again.
I need:
1. Stock (new or used)
2. But plate with white plastic shim and screws
3. Recoil plug
4. Trigger guard and screws
5. Inner magazine tube, complete
6. Firing pin
I would be more than happy to buy a complete replacement rifle if one was available. I could transfer parts off and make mine complete.
To my knowledge there is no serial number or perhaps I just don't know where to find it.
Thanks for your help!
