Make: Colt
Model: Woodsman Match Target 1st series
Caliber: 22LR
Location (city or county): Campbell
Price: $3000
Will ship (Y/N): N
This is an amazing Pre-war Woodsman Match Target, all orignal, 90% original blue. That gorgeous, old Colt blue... nothing like it sense. It has the slightest bit of holster wear at the muzzle and a couple of edges, and a small amount of oxidization toward the end of the barrel. Couple of scratches on barrel in the trigger area. Has the original, rare to find intact Colt wood elephant-ear grips. Very clean internally, doesn't look like it was fired very more than a few times in its long life.
Comes with ORIGINAL BOX, which is looking its age but has the correct SN on the bottom; original factory magazine, original instruction manual and hang tag!
But wait, there's more - it also comes with a Colt Factory letter of verification, showing it was delivered in 1939 to the Frederick's County, MD, Sheriff's office. This is especially cool because the sheriff at the time was the twice-elected Guy Anders, quite a local hero and also a celebrated marksman (makes sense he would order this gun!) Also including a holster that I don't think came originally with the gun, but is correct for the period and is probably from the late 30s, early 40s, and I suspect probably belonged to the sheriff.
I really hate to part with this one, as it's a rare, storied, amazing specimen of an American classic, an heirloom to keep and pass down to ones children. But, I really should free up my investment in it for some house projects.
Asking $3000, PPT in Campbell area.
