Make: BRNO
Model: vz.24
Caliber: 8mm Mauser
Location (city or county): Yuba City
Sold: SOLD
Will ship (Y/N): N
Other info: Cash and Carry.
What you see is what you get.
Throat and muzzle have high wear, as you can see from the bullet test. Has never been re-crowned. Good rifling left in the barrel with some dark pitted spots in the lands, but shines. Stock is a prime candidate for refinishing: it's ugly, but no serious cracks or damage and it locks tight to rifle. I have not disassembled it, though.
Numbers are a random assortment of NRXXXXX denoting production for Romania post 1938 for use by the Axis armies. The receiver is marked YR18xxx meaning it is near the last produced, late '40 or '41. This rifle could have seen the Eastern Front! Bayonet lug and attachment area is quite worn... Bolt is pitted but cycles decently...needs a good clean and lube but I haven't put any time into this rifle after acquiring it as part of a package. I cleaned the bore, protectively oiled it, and set it aside.
Know what you are looking at here, a historical gun that could be left as is as a relic or cleaned up, but it is not what I'd call a shooter. It seems in working order and probably would fire off just fine, but the previous owner had not fired it, I have not fired it, and my opinion is not that of a gunsmith.
