Suprised that you (with your lineage) would call yourself a Nazi in your signature. Great for the dogs and all but...

GLWS, that's a heck of a piece of family history to have to give up.
      Yeah.

      I'm pissed.
WTB: Rhodesian A5 FN 12G Shotgun...ah, never mind. Prices have become stupid...
WTB: FN FS2000..don't care anymore about this one either.

Unfortunately, only distance separates me and this rifle. Courtesy bump for a great cause!

This is some history with that rifle! I would hold on to it at any cost. It's obvious how the russian soldier got it. It was just issued to him. No more no less. Who cares. However, both my grandfathers told me the war stories about battlefield pick ups. And it's 7 out of 10 in wwii those bring backs were very personal to soldiers. Most of the times it was during close combat the prevailing officer who lived would take the fallen adversaries weapon as a reminder, trophy, a souvenir. Call it what you may - it's your family heirloom. Resist the sale no matter what the costs. Chances are your grandfather defended his life and won the fight hence he kept the rifle. He just didn't want to talk about. My grandparents did not like to talk about how many germans they killed either. So it goes both ways. Keep the rifle, Sir.
