Other info:This 1979 S&W has deep rich bluing in mint condition was the issue gun of San Diego Police officer therefore the barrel is marked .38 spc but the gun is chambered .357 and I have fired .357 no problems. It has bull barrel and was not carried by original owner. I have box papers and tools that came with it. You can text me at 714-357-0095
S&W made .38 Special Model 13s, which is essentially a Model 10. Those were made for some PD that used very hot .38 ammo. They made .38 Special Model 19s for the same reason. Some chambered only .38 some chambered .357 but marked .38 to satisfy city ordinance according to Smith and Wesson.
New York, San Diego and Thailand were a few.
