His point is that there are better options out there if you want Mexican food, if you can even consider Chipotle Mexican food.

On the diarrhea thing, I remember I ate chipotle for dinner and then decided to go for a run at the rose bowl afterwards, most of my running was looking for a toilet, that was crazy I literally blew up the toilet.

Jack's isn't primarily a Mexican food restaurant even I have eaten those tacos on occasion. But when going for specifically Mexican food I don't understand the attraction to Chipotle.

It's not all that good I think it's mainly White and Asian people that don't understand Mexican cuisine or are afraid to venture to places that make it better.

BOGO on marginal food doesn't make it any better.

Exactly! At best they are a B. Although I do hate myself for not buying CMG for around $100 back in their BOGE (Buy One Get e coli) days.

Consistency. A chipotle will almost always taste like chipotle wherever you go. Not so with hole-in-the-wall mexican joints.

There's a hole-in-the-wall place by me that I go to on occasion, but I still go to Chipotle too when I want to get completely stuffed with a 2-3lb burrito.

BOGO and Free Food somehow always taste better to me..even when marginal...

I'm Asian..., but what does that have to do with understanding Mexican cuisine? Oddly, I've seen quite a few Hispanic people ordering from our chipotle (speaking in spanish). what does that mean?

I remember eating Chipotle a few times as a firefighter/paramedic. They used to give our 4 man engine company crew a 100% discount… yes free. We would only go there once every few months because we did not want to abuse their generosity. They continued this free food for about a year…. Until our Police Department found out about it and literally the entire PD was eating there every day, day after day. Eventually they stopped giving free food to us or the Police. We would still eat there from time to time, paying full price for their food. Of course I never saw a cop eating there again once they had to actually pay. Funny thing is it did not taste as good when it was not free…. I guess you get what you pay for. I never eat there any more now either, much preferring more authentic, mom and pop restaurants for Mexican food, which here in the IE are within a stones throw of anywhere you go.

I didn't grow up Asian and make no claims to fully understand the nuances of Asian food and regional Chinese differences but I am commonly the only Westerner in many of my spots.

Occasionally I'll see an Asian in one of my authentic Mexican spots that found it on Yelp and isn't afraid of the barrio but at one spot I know I've NEVER seen a non Hispanic in it.

Mc Donald's is usually consistent too and I'll eat it very occasionally mainly due to convenience but nobody would agree it's the best burger ever.

Last time I ate Chipotle it was free too. It was edible I suppose and the concept makes sense it's trying to replicate San Francisco style Mission burritos.

The story with the cops seems to be a common thing.

I didn't know people still ordered food there.
Isn't the timing just about right for yet another series of deaths from their food?
What would that be at this point, 4 times?

I never did mention the food poisoning and cleanliness issues I felt hypocritical since I eat at totally hole in the wall places that probably aren't the best about that either. I've never gotten food poisoning from one though.

I search out, "hole in the walls".
They are usually not repeat offenders.
Only large corps. Can afford to be repeat offenders and still stay open.
