The eneloop brand are best known for their high internal resistance thus allowing it to still have 80% of its charge 6 months later.

Most all NiCd batteries self discharge and are at nearly 0% after 30 days. This is the real killer for the NiCd's for home use as they always need to be charged just before use. The eneloop can be charged then thrown in the drawer and used 6 months later without needing a recharge.

These also have high charge capacity for NiCds. I consistently get 650-700 ma-hr on my AAA.
