Updated with a lightweight extrusion, the Gen 2 CMR rails feature lightening cuts to reduce weight while still retaining the ability to mount the CMR proprietary accessories. Pairing this rail with the CMR accessories is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to have a fully kitted out rail system with all the essentials (rail covers, hand stop, light mount.) The original round extrusion found on the Gen 2 is just like the original CMR and is preferred by many for it's ergonomics compared to rail systems that require flats for the M-LOK mounting system. The CMR system is also supported by third party accessories such as from Arisaka with their controls and light mounts; and B5 Systems such as with their GripStop.
