    Are KTO AR10 80% good?

I've read mixed reviews on the KTO 1911 80% receivers, with some people reporting that the 1911 paperweight was out of spec. Anyone complete the KTO 80% AR10 lower? What was your impression of the product?

I don't know anything about the AR10 but the 1911 that I got from KTO about 10 or 12 years ago and converted to shoot 460 Rowland works perfectly and I had no trouble building it..

Yes, I finished one, many years ago. Good product at that time. Can't speak to current production, as there have been some QA issues lately with his handgun paperweights. But in theory since it is an older product, the KT10 should still be OK. There is also the CNC10 if you're looking for other Armalite pattern options in .308.

I'd say there is a big difference between old 1911s and new ones from them. Mine still aren't good, even the replacements I got are severely out of spec and mismachined. With the amount of quality AR manufacturers out there, I can't see any reason to try your luck with KTO.

I did a bunch of development work on the design.
If they keep making them like the last prototype I saw, they are going to be good stuff...

I did buy one and it's very nice but I now see that they are reworking them to accept DPMS lower parts kits.

I have not built mine yet.

                  Seconded...

The genesis lowers that I have seen have had impeccable machining. They are also made from 7075 unlike most billet lowers.

WRT KTO, all I can say is run away as fast as you can. I am very unhappy with the quality of the 5 KTO frames I have; 4 of them had major problems ranging from missing an operation to severe over-cuts. They took forever to get, they are expensive, and QCA is non existent. This scathing review is my only avenue for recourse as I am not waiting months for replacements.
