Hey figured this would be the place to ask. Recently decided to get a new bird hunting/skeet semi auto 12ga. After checking around a few places it dawned on me that I should look at seeing if there are replacement field barrels that would fit on a 1201fp. I know the stock form a super 90 will work as a replacement and saw another comment that A pin tail barrel could be used? Any one have the straight and narrow on this? Thanx in advance.

1201 FP Barrel Q?

I've check on the Pintail barrel, too, but that's a no go. The 1201FP barrel cannot be interchanged. The reason: the magazine tube. If you compare the Beretta 1201FP barrel to a 1200F barrel, you'll notice that the barrel connector to the magazine on the 1201FP is forward and the 1200F is back. Look at the forearm. The 1201FP carries 6+1 rounds and the 1200F carries 2+1, that little extra firepower is what's stopping you. Unless you know of a barrel maker, I'm sorry to say, it will not happen. The only thing you could do is switch an 18.5" to a 20" on the 1201FP - those are the only barrel lengths available (if you can find it).

If you had a Benelli M1S90, they made an 18.5" RS, 24" VR, and 26" VR barrels that were swapable.I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.
