A bit of a drive for you, but Daniel does first class work. He just fitted a Nowlin barrel for me on my colt combat commander. Excellent results - - Excellent accuracy and perfect function.

          In reference to this?
          "...barrel hood....as I need it reduced from a .486 to a .346...."

A factory barrel should drop right in.
Is this a Peformance Center gun or something different?

Kendog4570 is a decent guy but a great smith. He did some nice work on a rifle for me and barely charged me anything.

              Thanx for the detailed info!

Randall at AR15 barrels maybe able to do this.
              He's in Culver City.
Sometimes he's hard to get in touch with, be patient.

If you want to take off the highs and lows, use a file or a coarse stone and take your time. Remember, files only work in one direction. If you have a file with a safety edge, all the better. If not grind one to be so. Use some 600 and up grit to finish it or bead blast it.

BTW: Nice job on the DIY. I do see a little roughness but I take it's all cosmetic.
