    making a diy pintle

so on my list of projects, is a way to attach a swiveling mount to the rail of an ar-15. does anyone have any experience or advice on how to best do this? the ultimate desired result is a mount that pivots left/right and up/down from a fixed point, where it is bolted down to a base, and attaches to teh gun by clamping onto the gun's picatinny rail.

    Sounds interesting, and easy.

For maximum swing speed you want the pivot points in planes that cut the COG.
But the COG will change radically if you add optics and as you empty magazines.
You probably want a quick detach snap-in mount. Also you need to have good
access on the underside to change mags.

Oh and which pic rail? Do the optics stay on?
What about the 19th? Can the Commerce Clause be used to make it illegal for voting women to buy shoes from another state?

Easy enough to do if you have a quad rail and mount it to the bottom rail, then you can access the mags freely and mount optics:0

well im mostly not sure how to make the pivot part. i was mulling this over with someone who suggested using a sling mount adapter as a base, and welding my mount to that in order to have a quick-disconnect picatinny mount. the pivot is still baffling me though. i'll have ot brainstorm some more and post drawings to get you guys opinions i guess

Buy as cheap or expensive camera pivot mount as you want to spend and then mount that to your QD/rail adapter.
