How do I make this 'pretty' again without a gunsmith?

Currently offering this for sale but as a layman and due to cost not worth professional work.

These are scratches and paint chips. Frankly, if I can remedy the cosmetic appearance I will likely withdraw it from sale because it seems to work great and is USGI mil-spec carry handle.

I have Aluminum Black. Liquid Blue, Birch-Casey pen that's probably dried up, black nail polish, Kiwi black shoe polish, etc.

Any suggestions? Open to using other 'fixes' if above are not recommended. For instance, spray paint of some kind, cheap, spraying directly from its can?

    Thanks in advance.

Sell it as is and let the buyer play with it...

Duracoat? Exile machine sells durocaot aersol that comes with some degreaser you'll get plenty in case you want to do more that just the single piece, assuming all the scratches are just in the finish not the metal just strip the finish off and apply new, otherwise some light sanding may be needed

I used Black nail polish on mine. Looks OK from about 3 feet away. Closer than that, and you can see the nail polish.

Sand blast it. Dark colors are overrated.

Looks perfect. It's a tool, not jewelry.

Make the rest of the rifle match, as it should.

Yes, it IS jewelry. 'Rifle' jewelry.

If it is in good working order, leave it alone. Good grief.

it's ain't paint chips and scratches, that's Anodized and you can't "touch it up"

the best treatment is re anodize but that expensive.
cheaper is Cerakote or duracoat but you're going to have to spend some money.

But i know a guy that could cerakote it.

Leave it alone. That's what it is supposed to look like.
Now make your rifle match by actually shooting it.
