    SO CAL AK build party?

So i am looking at getting a AK, but the prices have just gotten ridiculous. I am now toying with the idea of buying a jig and a flat but I have no idea what I am doing.

best I can tell a flat receiver runs under $40, but you have to have it parked, although there is no dros or waiting period.

then a kit to complete your gun runs from $200- $500 and a builder can finish it up for you for another $2-300, and you end up with a very nice gun

I guess what i am looking for is people who are interested and most importantly, some one to show up that knows what the #### they are doing LOL

Just buy a WASR. Its a lot less stressful.

AKs IMO are functional they don't have to be nice

This, if you are looking to build an AK for any other reason than the joy of building.

Well, I'm in Torrance and OC. I just bought 20T press, and barrel kit. I'm in the process working on my spot welder.

This is my first build and i'm working on getting the tools together. let me know if I can do anything.

Just de-milled my Romy G, so I'm set to go!

            Count me in!

(Although I will need to find that selector stop part by the trigger guard.)

There should be one in the beginning of 09, even better if there's two or more because I have a few kits and receivers that need to be put together.

If you don't already have an AK, and don't mind drosing a firearm, just get a saiga and do the conversion. You'll end up with a mostly(because you'll have to swap parts for 922r) all Rusian piece that works well.

If you want the joy of building and still don't mind drosing a receiver, go NDS.

If you want the full experience, and a paperless gun, then you bend your flat.

I'm in the process of building a kit on an NDS 3 and having some other things done alont the way. It's not rocket science, and if you have access to some basic tools to make your own tooling, you can do the whole thing by yourself.

Never seen one in person. Don't know where to start. But have always wanted an AK (over say an AR). If you're willing to let a total noob join just to watch and learn, I'm in.

I don't think a date has been set. Redhorse is around, I'm sure he'll chime in sooner or later. Feb isn't too far away. just demill your kits now, once you're done, buy more and do the same.

I'd like in. I have a welder and a press I can bring and I'm pretty fair with it.
