Hey does anyone know why the good Dr. has stepped up the spam regarding support for the lawsuit? My email and VM have been getting spammed at least 5 or 6 times a day. It has really ramped up in the last few weeks after a summer of pretty normal marketing activities.

I called... The coordinator for the private classes wasn't in (Dani?), yet, so did ask about that "2-yr requirement." I got a different answer - I can take the HGSB without the 2-year requirement. I heard that his name is "Drew" - as long as I DGed the 4DDHG and have taken THG/ATHG, I could go back to the Skill Builder

@beanz2 - It would seem that you are somehow jinxed - be it the trigger pull weight of your CZ or the classes you'd like to take...

I got tired of the robo-calls and one day dialed the number back thinking I would get somebody on the phone so I could tell them to stop calling me. Well, when I re-dialed the number back, I got some sort of generic recording telling me I could opt-out of future calls, which I did.

            Finally...

Just got a call from Dani, luckily while I wasn't with a client - I got a 3-day in Feb booked... Woot!

Variable optics is the way to go in my opinion but I have seen people DG'd the Skill Builder with just red dots.

Can anybody share some thoughts on what to expect in Long Gun Tactics class?
I noticed in the class description that both weapons should be equipped with slings and lights. I guess my question would be:
Will there be some sort of transition training from one firearm to the other?
Just curious... Thank you in advance.

                    Best Western or Holiday Inn?

First time at FS was with my family so we got the Wine Ridge. Second time, just by myself, I took the Holiday Inn.

Going into my 3rd time - I find that Best Western is about $200 cheaper across 5D/4N. Would it be worth it? I will going alone for a 3-day private class.

                    TIA!

I’d say it’s a toss up between the two and you should definitely try the Beat Western if you haven’t done so to see for yourself.
That make sense… Better breakfast + haven’t tried it yet == good enough for me!

The only place I refuse to stay in Pahrump is Saddle West. Disgusting in my book.
Yeah, heard a few horror stories that I would not like to be a Guiniea pig.

                        Thanks!!!

The Best Western is adequate - but I also find it significantly easier to load/unload the car at the best western vs the holiday inn. Especially for something with long-guns and always having a backup gun along.

My wife is fine with it.

I don't do breakfast, so that's not a factor for me at any location.

The cheapest option is definitely Saddle West, but I won't stay there unless I'm solo (most of the time) Its a dump, but I've never seen bugs - that's my personal line in the sand if I'm by myself. When I was going out 4-5 times a year for HCMP it saved a ton of money.

Why not just rent one of the tiny cottages at Wine Ridge? In the off-season it's cheaper than both the Best Western or the Holiday Inn.

I've never stayed at the Holiday in for no other reason than I've just never stayed there but may give it a try sometime just to compare it to the other places I've stayed.

I've stayed at both the Best Western and Wine Ridge a few times each and like them both, but when I've stayed at BW it's been in a suite with a kitchen. Advantage of the BW is the breakfast in the morning, but have no problem just hitting the grocery store and making my own breakfast in the cottage at WR. Plus you get a full kitchen in the basic cottages and casitas at WR, but have to upgrade to a suite and pay more at the BW.

I am not a fan of Saddle West but many have never had any issues. I can't stand walking through the casino to check in and then smelling like smoke the rest of day. Plus, the room I was in was nasty and depressing. I'd pay a few more bucks to stay at the BW or jsut spend pretty much the same as SW and stay at WR.

For those that have taken the Tactical Shotgun class, how are you carrying your spare shells?

I have a crap-load of 6 and 7 round velcro/elastic shot cards. I can keep one card velcro'd to the receiver and one velcro'd to the stock, but how are you carrying spare shot cards, or do I not need to worry about carrying any spare shot cards on my person when up on the firing line? Would a very minimalist chest harness with shot cards velcro'd onto it be overkill/unnecessary? Any way to carry shot cards velcro'd onto a belt?

I also have couple of shell holders (that I don't think are make any more) from California Comp Works that clip to a belt pictured below.

Any use for a dump pouch or a shotgun belt pouch?

I'm sure most of this is personal preference and discovered by trial and error, but it's nice to hear the rigs and set-ups other have used who have already been through the class.
