Just a fast recommendation for anyone looking for a great beginner's class and platform for more in depth firearms training. ITTS never disappoints.
I'd taken many private lessons from LEOs, so this summer I skipped right to taking the ITTS Level 2 and 3 Defensive Handgun courses. However, the instructors recommended I take Level 1 as well for the invaluable classroom education. They could not have been more correct.
Brett and Uncle Scotty do a masterful job of going over all the basics of safety, legality and basic handling. I'm very glad I went for the classroom portion, and will probably make a point to re-take it again and again every few years. There was even another student there who'd taken almost every class available at ITTS...he attended with his wife, but took part in the lessons as if he was a rookie.
Taking the Level 1 class is a very effective way to become and remain safe, confident and well trained with your handgun...and it's also a great time.
