O.k, I broke two of the Dillon .223 Decapping pins last night. However, I did managed to decap about 3k .223 pieces of brass. On the first one I knew that something was not right when it felt too hard but I still went ahead and applied more pressure (what a dumbass) and about an hour later I did the same thing. No biggie, because now I have learned the limitations of the decapping dies. I just wished that some one made titanium or decapping dies with other materials that will not bend/brake.

Hmmm, I've decapped at least several 1000s of rounds of .223 on my Lee RGB dies, and never broken a single one (yet). I don't know what I'm doing wrong, since everybody knows that Lee equipment doesn't work worth a ****, and you must buy Blue if you want to do things right the first time...

I will have to try harder. Eventually I hope to break my first one.

Would you care to elaborate what type of punch? Thanks!

Sounds like you got a tuesday or wednesday part...

I have never broken a dillon decapping pin.
I HAVE converted quite a few berdan cases into boxer cases accidentally though.
You sure can tell when the pin hits the case instead of a primer.
I just power through it, then pull that case out and toss it because the primer pocket ends up with 3 holes and berdan pockets are not compatible with boxer primers.
I keep trying to break a dillon pin (I have extras on-hand), but I have not been able to do it.
This is all in pistol dies though and I think the rifle pins are thinner to be able to fit the decapping stem into the neck.
