9E, This is the deal right here:

Use code: FS2711NB for free shipping through Thursday.

Add in a couple of shellholders or any other RCBS products to get to $300, and take a $50 rebate.

If you want to run the LNL system, just get this:

If you don't need a scale, the RCBS 505 that comes with the set is excellent, and you'd be able to sell it to recoup more costs.

As far as dies go for rifle, if it is made in your cartridge size, Redding Type-S/Comp series--that's all you need to know.

ETA: For small cartridges, it won't make a huge different in press, but RCBS gear is going to be pretty much universally better than Hornady. Hornady makes everything, and their products are oriented to a budget oriented consumer. They do most stuff okay, but they don't do anything great. The two things I like from Hornady are the LNL bushing system for 7/8" dies and their powder funnel because it is transparent. The RCBS hand primer is the best you'll get of the cheap hand primers. The basic one, however, is a PITA to change shellholders. It isn't a problem if you are using the same size shell holder. Always get at least two shell holders, one for your press and one for your hand primer.

I've had a Rockchucker 40+ years. Still works fine. I think the Summit would be a PIA to use since you need to reach higher than the RC to operate the handle. Watch a Summit video on youtube. Then look for a Rockchucker vid. Bought a RCBS Jr in 1972 sold it last year when I bought a used Rockchucker then sold my Rockchucker with the progressive setup. The Rockchucker works better on my belted magnums. The Jr and progressive were fine for pistols. 223 & 30 Carbine. Also used the Rockchucker to form 7.65 Argentine 8mm Mauser & 7.7 Ariska brass from 30-06 brass.

RC since 1968, never looked back.

Being an old school skeptical codger. I would never buy a press system that required I also buy a "special bushing" for every die I own. I load for over a dozen diff. calibers.

If you aren't patient enough to spend 10 seconds to screw a die into your press. You are too impatient to be reloading to start with.

Forster Co Ax. You won't regret the extra money spent.

                Pacrat--- You have that right.
One of my RC presses is and late 1960's and the Jr is older than that as I remember.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I usually try not to give too little information when I ask questions. It seems that in this case, I've given too much.

I seem to have overwhelmed some folks, who are trying to be helpful, by not asking a simple question.

                  1. I'm not going to buy a RCBS RC or a Hornady LNL...I have experience with both.
For what I'm going to use it for the Lee CC will serve just as well...no case forming or wildcatting...and has superior spent primer management

                  2. I'm not going to get a Co-Ax, because I can't justify the expense (yes, Cujo , I really would like one)

                  3. What I am asking is if anyone has any comparative experience with the RCBS Summit press

I've got a Redding Big Boss and really like it.
Anyone press will hear the fat lady sing.

Pick the Hornady. You can use the same die bushings on the single stage.

I have the Hornady bushing kit on my RC, makes changing dies a snap.

LOL, and people still do not answer his question, he only wants to hear about experiences with the RCBS Summit.

I've never touched one, but in keeping with all the other responses, Love my RCBS Jr that I bout 40 years ago, does everything and they can be found cheap on fleabay.

I drank the green cool ade and have three RCBS presses. 2 RCBS juniors and a Pro 2000. Great presses all.
