Reloading xtreme bullets 124g 9mm with unique

Hey guys I have a lee single stage press with rcbs full length carbide dies for my 9mm. I'm loading xtreme bullets 9mm 124 grain round nose plated bullets, with unique gun powder. Now according to unique recipie for a hallow point 124 gr bullet it calls for 5.8 grains of powder. I've been told to load plated bullets to lead specs, but I can't find lead load date for my powder. Does anyone load xtreme bullets with unique gun powder? Or know a recipie I should use? Thanks for the help.

I'd start out with 5g and work up by 0.2g increments to find what the pistol likes.

Your pistol should cycle fine at 4.8 grains with a 124 gr. plated bullet but it's a mild load. I'd recommend 5.0-5.2 grains for a good accurate load that's easy on brass and the pistol. Wouldn't go past 5.5 maximum for any 124 grain plated bullet even with Speer's max load data using Gold Dots. At 5.0-5.2 I've found it ok with any 9MM case and primer and velocities around 1040 fps with 5.0 grains in a 4.1" barrel. Shorter overall lengths raises pressure. Most 124 gr round nosed bullets do fine at 1.150" up to 1.160" but you'd need to check your oal's in your pistol.

I load these bullets with 5.0gr of unique seated to 1.120-1.130. Gives about 1,075fps out of a 4.5" barrel and very accurate.

            I load these 124 RN with 5.2-5.3 C.O.L 1.145 with Unique.

I had the best luck with UP TO 5.2gr of Unique in my Beretta M9 with Berry's or X-Treme 124gr.

When I went over about 5.2gr of Unique I was getting showered with (I think it was unburnt?) powder.

              ~5.0gr was my happy-place...

I can't remember the OAL, but it was exactly the same as PMC FMJs I used as a reference.
