I'll keep you in mind! Thanks! But the plumbers that came by earlier today screwed the job up and needed to fix it.

They're coming back again tomorrow at 10:00 to replace another part on the other toilet.

Then we have to let the landlady know what happened.

Well that sucks. Call backs kill the profits. Hope they aren't charging for the return call.

I certainly hope not. They didn't mention anything about it. Especially since we have a 90 day warranty against leaks. I bet they weren't thinking they would have a problem less than 9 hours later!!!

If they do charge us, I doubt the landlady will pay. She's super errr...uhhh.. frugal. Oh, who am I kidding. She's cheap!!! We'll see what happens.

It could have been worse. It could have been the poo-line that burst! Now THAT would've been crappy!

Lol, sorry I don't do the poo. Most of our business is remodels. Most landlords are cheapies anyways. I don't do many service calls, tough to schedule life around waiting for a phone call.
The few calls I do take, go into the reload pot. [emoji1]
I find the quality of skilled labor has gone down the tubes. Folks just don't care anymore.

            That's bad . When I 1st read , I was thinking in ceiling .
            I had that happen 3 times- 1st I fixed , 2nd insurance deductible and 3rd , insurance again .
It costs an extra 400 , but I had all facets , a sprinkler install in garage and 3 shut off valves install in garage and a all specets replaced and one added on side of house
Now the house has copper pipping .
They patched sheet rock , but I painted - I also bought all the valves and stuff for kitchen . 4800 for plumber and a little over 500 for parts - but wife picked out kitchen , bathroom and bar stuff .
I did not have to install anything .

Yup! I'm no plumber, but even I could see that those parts should have been changed out when pulling and resetting those toilets. They were old, rusted and they had this blue/green oxidation on the angle-stop valve. Why risk it when those parts are cheap. And they're removing them anyways because they were replacing the angle-stop valve. Sheesh! Oh well. They're coming out this morning to replace the other angle-stop and flex hose.

My brother-in-law owns a carpet company, so we're going to call him today to have him check on the carpet to make sure it dries completely. The last thing we need is mold!

And I doubt I would last being a plumber that deals in the poo. That is one dirty job I would not want. I'd spend half the time tossing my cookies! Sounds like you're on the right end of that business!

Doing the job right is well worth spending the money on. The price you pay will evaporate once you're enjoying the fruits of your labor (even better when it's someone else's labor).

Ceiling or roof leaks are the worst!!! In our first house, we had these nasty tile roofs with no underlayment. They leaked like the Titanic during some yuge storms about 20 years ago. Ugh...

Anyways, back on topic-If I can't make it today, have a great meet up and I'll be there in spirit! I've still got roughly 10 pounds + of 40 S&W, 38 spcl & 357 mag to trade!

Yes, do it right the first time. If it's a angle stop or supply that is leaking, chances are, there is a probability of another leak somewhere else in the near future.
On a diff note, I'm open to anyone with .40 brass that want to get rid of.

That is why I bought the parts . I wanted ball valves everywhere .
Of course the wife was happy to replace the kitchen and bathroom stuff you can see .
it was easier for them to use better stuff than what they had - I did not want their cheap stuff in yard - I picked out what I wanted , not what they had .

Does anyone have a set of handles for Lee 6 cavity molds they could bring? I bought a few sets, and they were supposed to be here yesterday. They haven't showed up yet. Thanks

I think it went good. It wasn't as big of a turnout as I was expecting, but it was still good. There were three that came, so 4 of us total. I got to learn how to cast bullets, but my lead didn't show up, so the alloy that I had was too rich with tin. It was a 60/40 lead/tin mix I get from work, and it just wasn't casing right, and the powder coat didn't want to stick.
We got to show one member the process, and how to load on the dillon press, and help alleviate some of his concerns that loading was difficult.
We got to see another members really cool home made wet tumbler.
My wife was offering food and drinks, but after we dispersed I realized that men being men usually don't want to put anyone out, so I think next time it would be better to just have some food and drinks out.
Everyone was great, and are always welcome back.
If you guys want to do it again, let me know.

Next meeting I have some plumbers lead I'll donate. I believe it's pure lead, will need to be smelted tho.
Sorry I missed all the fun. Kids birthday, and my buddies went to Los gatos too.

It was great, I didn't know jack about reloading and now I feel comfortable enough to buy my own setup and start reloading!

Glad you guys had a nice meet up! What was supposed to be a quick and easy fix by the plumber turned into an all day affair. Anyways, that's a story for another day.

I'm really sorry I missed it and am looking forward to the next one! Saving stuff from for the next session!
