need help finding part

okay so i just checked and the dies are "Pacific Durachrome"

Looks like hornady bought them out in the 70's

so i probably wont be able to find the exact de-caping pins.

Probably just order a few different ones and see what fits.

Hornaday has the same kind of CS as RCBS. Call them and ask for tech support in reloading. They might have some decapping pins for the pacific dies laying around on one of the shelves.

Well, as much as I appreciate everyones input, the die IS NOT an RCBS.

The only reason i put up a link to that picture was because it clearly showed the part that I messed up. Regardless, at least now I know what the name of the part is, so I might have better luck looking for it, or asking my local gun store about it.

You could also go to a gun shop and buy a package of 5 decapping pins for 2.00 and have spares. Its faster. Mistakes happen.

I agree with everyone else. Call RCBS and they will get that part out to you asap and in the meantime you can read up on how to make less of these mistakes. I wonder what other things you might have done wrong. I hope that you did not get Accurate #7 mixed up with Reloader #7...

Not true. My moval "friend" gave me a 7.62x54 and SWORE that they were hard crimped so I started decapping and damn I tightened that pin so hard that after the 3rd time of popping up it just snapped. Then I got a flashlight and looked down the shell and saw it was berdan primed. Did that on a HANDpress too- BUT, in my defense, I had perfect thigh-master form...

If it is an RCBS die, call RCBS in the morning, they will send you a new one.

How would that have solved anything. A depriming die in station #2 or any other means no primer chute hole, which means bent decapping pin. I and I know they say unbreakable with Lee's collet decapping pin, but when you have a monkey operating your press (older Bro) I have seen it break.

Whatever the make of your die is, call that company. If you nice enough and ask in a friendly voice, they may even send you a couple. Tell them your a newb.

Ask nice and RCBS will send you a new stem and a PACK of decap pins....not just one.

Aren't you glad you got RCBS and not lee? RCBS will do that even when the die is 40+ years old, your fault, not require you to send in the old part and no reciept!

Yeah call RCBS if that's the die. I had to get some replacement parts because of mistakes too, they'll take care of it.

hey guys. still new to reloading, and made a truly idiotic and rookie mistake just now.

I had my die that punches out the primer set at the wrong station, and bent the hell out of the little rod that hits out the primer.

Anyone know where i could find a new one? i checked a couple sites, but havent turned up anything.

Any help is much appreciated.
